Cargo Pants With Pockets That Earn Their Place

Cargo pants live or die on pocket design. BERMGOODS builds cargo pants in cotton twill, ripstop and washed canvas, with bellows pockets, snap or Velcro flaps and adjustable hems. We work from your sketch or ours, produce a sample, and scale to bulk from 50 pieces.

Overview

A woven bottom with real utility

Cargo pants sit apart from the fleece-based bottoms in a collection. They are woven, structured and pocket-heavy, so they take more pattern work and sewing time. That investment pays back when the garment looks right on the rail, because a well-made cargo reads as higher value than most knit bottoms.

We offer three base fabrics. Cotton twill at 240 to 300 gsm gives a clean workwear look. Cotton-nylon ripstop at 180 to 220 gsm is lighter, tougher and good for technical or outdoor styling. Washed canvas at 300 to 340 gsm gives a heavy vintage handle. Each can be garment dyed, enzyme washed or stone washed to match your palette.

Pocket layout is where designs differ most. A standard design uses two large bellows pockets on the thighs, each with a flap and snap or hook-and-loop closure. We can also add shin pockets, a utility strap, a phone pocket on the front panel, or a hidden zip. We draw each layout on a flat, then confirm dimensions against your size chart before sampling.

Pocket and hardware details

Bellows pocket depth

Bellows pockets have a pleated side panel that expands to hold real items. We size them to fit a phone and wallet without bulging empty, and reinforce the corners to resist tearing.

Snap and hardware choices

Choose metal snaps, antique brass or matte black buttons, YKK-style zips or hook-and-loop closures. Custom engraved buttons and branded zip pullers are possible at modest minimums.

Adjustable hems and waists

Drawcord hems with cord locks, side tabs with snaps, or rear waist adjusters let the wearer tailor the fit. These add function and also suit streetwear styling.

Stress-point sewing

Cargo pants carry weight in the thighs, so we bar-tack pocket corners, triple stitch the outseam on heavier fabrics, and use a gusseted crotch to prevent splitting in squats and climbs.

Options

Make the cargo your own

Send your pocket layout, fabric preference and quantity. We will respond with a technical flat, a mockup and a sample timeline.

01

Garment dye and wash

Washed olive, sand, black, grey and washed stone all suit cargo styling. We run wash trials before bulk, so the finish matches your brief. Enzyme and stone washes soften twill; sand blasting adds wear.

02

Embroidery and patches

Small logos on the flap, the leg or the back pocket suit cargo styling. Woven and rubber patches add texture. We test snap and stitch placement so branding does not interfere with closures.

03

Custom labels and tapes

Woven hem labels, jacquard webbing, printed inner tape and custom hangtags help the pant look finished. Contrast webbing straps suit more technical or outdoor-influenced collections.

04

Fit variations

Straight, tapered, baggy and wide-leg blocks are available. We can combine a baggy thigh with a tapered cuff, or a flare with a utility flap, and we sample each variation before bulk.

Buyers

Who orders this

Cargo pants attract buyers who want utility and a strong visual identity. They work well in streetwear, outdoor lifestyle and workwear collections, as well as in uniform programmes where function counts.

  • Streetwear brands wanting a structured woven bottom
  • Outdoor and hiking labels needing ripstop styles
  • Trade, crew and event staff teams ordering branded workwear
  • Vintage and workwear brands developing washed collections
  • Retailers building private label bottoms beyond fleece
Durability

Care & durability

Woven cargos are tougher than knit bottoms, but still reward careful washing. Cold or warm wash with a mild detergent protects dyes, and air drying keeps hardware from scratching. Closing flaps before washing prevents snags.

Pre-washed fabric, double-stitched seams and reinforced pocket corners help cargos survive daily wear. Garment-dyed colours will gently soften and fade over time, which is usually considered part of the look.

FAQ

Details buyers check first

Straight answers to the questions buyers ask us most. Anything missing? Send an inquiry and we will reply within one business day.

It depends on use. Twill suits everyday streetwear and workwear, ripstop is lighter and more technical, and washed canvas gives a heavy, vintage handle. We can send swatches of each so you can compare handfeel and drape.

Yes. Send a sketch, a photo or a sample garment. We draw a flat spec with pocket positions and sizes, confirm it with you, then make a sample. Changes after the first sample are included in the process.

Yes. Custom engraved buttons, branded zip pullers and cord locks are available. They have their own minimums, so we advise on what is practical at your order size and can combine them with stock hardware.

Yes. We grade a women's block with a higher rise, a shaped waistband and a different hip curve. Many brands offer a unisex baggy cargo and a women's fitted cargo from the same fabric.

We pre-wash or sanforize fabric, then measure finished garments after a test wash. Pattern allowances are set from those results, so finished sizes match your chart even after washing at home.
