A vest is the layering piece that adds warmth to the core without limiting the arms. We make urban vests in quilted puffer, utility cargo, denim, fleece-backed and tactical styles, with nylon or cotton shells, 100 to 200 g insulation and pocket layouts to your specification. A vest is a small garment where every detail shows
With no sleeves, a vest puts its collar, armholes, hem and pockets in the spotlight. Armholes need to be cut high enough to avoid rubbing but wide enough for a hoodie underneath. We bind the armhole edges with knit rib, tape or self-fabric for a clean finish, and test mobility on a model.
Shell fabrics range from 20D to 50D nylon for puffers, 8 to 12 oz cotton canvas or ripstop for utility vests, and 10 to 12 oz denim for casual styles. Puffers use 100 to 200 g polyester fill with horizontal or vertical baffles, while utility vests may be lined with mesh or fleece only. Fleece-backed vests offer warmth in a thin layer.
Pocket layout is a major selling point. Urban utility vests often have chest pockets, a zipped cargo pocket, a radio loop and hidden inside pockets. Buckles, adjustable side straps and reflective piping give a functional look. Fits can be cropped, boxy or long, and we create a fit sample so proportions suit your layering.

Where the vest earns its keep
High, clean armholes
Armholes are cut and bound to sit comfortably over bulky layers. We test with hoodies and jackets underneath, so the vest does not bind or ride up in motion.
Pocket-led design
Chest, hand, cargo and inner pockets can be mixed. Each pocket is sized for a phone, wallet or tool and bar tacked at the corners, so it keeps its shape with a load.
Insulation by zone
Puffer vests use 100 to 200 g fill in body baffles, while fleece vests rely on fabric weight. We choose insulation to give core warmth without bulk at the shoulders.
Hardware and closures
Heavy zips, snap fronts, side adjusters and webbing straps complete the utility look. We select hardware finishes to match your brand, from matte black to antique brass.

Chest and back embroidery
Left-chest logos and back graphics are the most common. On puffers, we place embroidery on flat areas between baffles and use a light stitch count to preserve loft.
Heat transfer and reflective prints
Heat-applied logos are ideal for nylon shells. Reflective print adds visibility for city riders and crews, and does not add bulk to the vest.
Rubber and woven patches
Silicone patches and woven labels on the chest or strap add a technical look. They attach flat, and we place them to avoid hitting pockets or zips.
Screen print on canvas
Cotton canvas utility vests take screen print well, with crisp graphics on the back. We use water-based or plastisol inks depending on the color and effect you want.

Care & durability
Puffer vests can be washed on a gentle cycle and dried on low heat. Canvas and denim vests can be machine washed cold. Check pockets before washing, and close zips to avoid snagging.
Armhole bindings and zips are reinforced. Seams are double stitched, and pockets are bar tacked, so the vest keeps its shape under regular use.

How do you make a vest warm without sleeves?
We use 150 to 200 g fill in the body and a high collar to protect the neck. Vests keep the core warm, and layers underneath handle the rest. A fleece lining adds more warmth.
Can I get a high-visibility vest?
Yes. We make hi-vis fabric vests with reflective tape, to meet your market's requirements. Please share your standard in advance, so we can match tape specifications and test correctly.
What pockets are possible?
Chest, hand, cargo, radio loops and hidden inner pockets are common. Each adds sewing time and cost. We show a pocket layout in the mockup, and adjust placement before sampling.
Will a vest fit over a thick hoodie?
We cut the armholes and body with ease for layering. Share the thickness of the layer you expect, and we test the sample with it. Fit can be tuned in the sample stage.
Is the vest unisex?
Many urban vests are unisex. We can also provide women's cuts with a shorter body and narrower shoulders. We provide size charts and grade each size on a fit model.
