Crewneck Sweatshirts With a Clean, Classic Frame
The crewneck is the cleanest canvas in fleece. With no hood or pocket in the way, your front and back artwork gets the whole panel. We cut crewnecks in fleece and French terry weights from light to heavy, so you can match the garment to the season and the brand.
- No hood, full print area
- Fleece and French terry options
- 280 to 400 GSM weights
- Rib collar, cuffs and hem
A larger canvas for logos, crests and graphics
Without a hood and pocket, a crewneck gives you one uninterrupted panel front and back. That makes it a favourite for larger graphics, crests and typography, and for decorators who want straight print or embroidery without fighting seams.
Fabric choice defines the character. Brushed fleece is warmer and fuller, suited to autumn and winter. French terry has a looped interior and a smoother, lighter feel for spring and layering. We offer both, in weights from 280 GSM lightweight terry to 400 GSM heavy fleece.
Construction details separate a good crewneck from a cheap one. We use a 2×2 rib collar with a shaped neck tape, side-seam or tubular body options, and cuffs and hem with a high rib recovery. A sturdy collar keeps its shape after washing, which matters because it frames your branding.

Details that give a crewneck shape
Collar that holds up
A 2×2 rib with a stabilised neck seam resists stretch and bacon-neck after washing. Because there is no hood to hide it, a good collar is part of the garment's identity.
Fleece or terry interior
Choose brushed fleece for warmth and bulk, or French terry for a breathable, drapey feel. Both can be pre-washed and enzyme-treated for a soft, low-pill surface.
Full-panel decoration
Front and back panels are uninterrupted, so larger artwork prints without distortion. This also makes embroidery and tackle twill simpler to place and align.
Shrinkage control
We pre-shrink and test fabric before cutting. Length and width change after washing is held under 3 percent, so sizing stays dependable across the run.

Large-format print
Big front or back graphics are easy to print on a flat panel. Screen print gives volume efficiency, and DTG handles photographic artwork or short runs without set-up fees.
Chest crest embroidery
Classic left-chest or centred crests suit club, school and corporate crewnecks. Stitch density is balanced to keep lighter terry from puckering.
Varsity applique
Tackle twill letters and numbers are a traditional match for crewnecks. We layer twill with embroidered borders for a heritage look that holds up in the wash.
Neck and hem details
Printed neck labels, woven hem tags and sleeve prints add a finishing touch. Inside neck prints also remove the scratchy tag for a more comfortable wear.
Who orders this
Crewneck sweatshirts are the practical choice for buyers who need a versatile, uncomplicated garment that suits many body types and decoration styles. They are easier to wear indoors and in warm climates than a hoodie.
- Schools and universities ordering classic spirit wear
- Brands building minimalist, logo-led sweatshirt collections
- Corporate teams wanting a smart, casual branded layer
- Sports clubs and fan groups making supporter sweatshirts
- Cafes, studios and salons outfitting staff in a neat layer
Care & durability
Crewnecks are low maintenance. Wash at 30 to 40 degrees, inside out, and tumble on low or dry flat. Fleece interiors will fluff a little at first, which is normal and settles after the first few washes.
Rib trims and reinforced shoulder seams keep their shape well, and pre-washed fabric limits pilling. Embroidery and prints bond to the flat panel and stay intact through repeated laundering.
Questions buyers ask about crewneck sweatshirts
Straight answers to the questions buyers ask us most. Anything missing? Send an inquiry and we will reply within one business day.
Fleece or French terry, which should I pick?
Fleece is warmer, fuller and better for cold seasons. French terry is lighter and breathable, good for spring, layering and warm climates. We can send both swatches so you can compare weight and feel.
What weight is best for a premium crewneck?
For a premium feel, 350 to 400 GSM fleece gives a dense, structured sweatshirt. For an everyday style, 280 to 320 GSM keeps cost and weight down. We can sample two weights side by side.
Can you do raglan or dropped-shoulder cuts?
Yes. Set-in, raglan and dropped-shoulder patterns are available, along with boxy, cropped and oversized fits. Tell us the style and we will build or adapt a pattern and grade it across your sizes.
Is a crewneck cheaper than a hoodie?
Usually yes, because it uses less fabric and no hood, drawcord or pocket. The saving varies with weight and decoration. We will price both styles side by side if you are undecided.
Can I get a vintage washed look on a crewneck?
Yes. Garment dye and enzyme or stone wash options are available, giving a faded, soft hand. They need sample approval, since the final shade differs from the raw colour. Ask for a wash test.
