High-Gloss Puffer Jackets With a Wet-Look Finish
The shiny puffer is a fashion piece first and a winter coat second. We make it in high-sheen nylon, lacquer-coated polyester and metallic foil fabrics, with 180 to 250 g fill and wide baffles that catch the light. Cropped and oversized cuts are most popular. Minimum order is 50 pieces.

Shiny puffers depend on shell fabric that reflects light cleanly. We use 20D to 40D nylon with a high-gloss calendered finish, or polyester coated with a thin PU film for a wet-look effect. Metallic foil fabrics and iridescent films produce silver, gold or color-shifting looks. Each fabric has different stretch and creasing behavior.
Because gloss exaggerates every imperfection, pattern accuracy matters. Sewing needles are fine, stitch lengths are tuned and fabrics are cut with attention to grain, so baffles look uniform. Needle holes can show in coated fabric, so we use reduced-hole stitching and apply stitch tape where needed. Fill is typically 180 to 250 g recycled polyester for a lightweight but visibly puffy look.
Fit is usually oversized or cropped, and sleeves are often wide with elastic or knit cuffs. Hoods may be oversize with a drawcord, or the collar may be a high funnel. We can add a detachable hood, a hem drawcord and contrast zippers. A fit sample lets you check how the fabric drapes and reflects light on a body before committing to bulk.

Surface gloss options
We offer high-gloss, semi-gloss and wet-look finishes, plus metallic and iridescent films. Each is sampled in a swatch before production so you can judge how it reflects under studio and daylight.
Even baffle stitching
Wide baffles of 10 to 15 cm need precise stitching, or lines wander. We mark baffles with laser guides and sew with fine needles to minimize visible holes.
Shape retention
A slightly stiffer hand on glossy fabrics helps the jacket keep its volume. We tune fill and baffle size to avoid collapsing or looking flat after wear.
Statement hardware
Glossy zips, large pullers and tonal snaps complement the surface. We can supply matched hardware in black, silver, gold or color, and test it for smooth movement.
Decorating a glossy surface

Heat-applied logos
Smooth-surface heat transfers sit well on nylon and keep the look clean. We test adhesion and temperature on each fabric because high heat can dull the gloss.
Rubber and silicone patches
Raised silicone logos work with a glossy aesthetic and avoid needle holes. They are applied by heat or sewn through a flat strip placed along a baffle edge.
Embroidery on flat zones
Small embroidery on the chest or sleeve is possible on flat zones, using a light stabilizer. We limit stitch density to avoid puckering, and advise on thread color so the logo does not look flat.
Reflective and printed trims
Reflective tape or printed trims on the cuff and hem add a technical look. Tape is applied flat, and care labels are printed inside rather than sewn into seams that show from outside.

Care & durability
Wipe glossy puffers with a soft damp cloth. If washing is necessary, use a gentle cycle in cold water with a mild detergent, and air dry. Avoid high heat, which can dull coatings, and do not iron the shell.
We test coated fabrics for cracking and peeling, and use quality PU films. Fill is held in place by baffle walls, and seams are reinforced so the jacket keeps its volume with regular wear.

Will the shine wear off?
High-quality coated nylon keeps its gloss through normal wear, though friction at cuffs and hem may dull it slightly. We test rub resistance on swatches, and advise on care to extend the finish.
Does needle hole visibility matter?
On glossy and coated fabrics, needle holes can show light. We use fine needles, longer stitch lengths and, where required, seam tape on the inside. We show close-ups on the sample.
Are metallic fabrics warm?
Warmth comes from fill, not the shell. Metallic fabrics reflect some heat and look dramatic. We recommend 200 g fill for typical winter, and can alter it based on your market.
Can I get a matte version of the same style?
Yes. We build the same pattern in matte nylon, which is useful for a two-finish drop. The cutting pattern and baffle layout stay the same, so sampling is quicker.
How do you pack glossy jackets to avoid creases?
We fold with tissue and individual polybags, and carton jackets flat. For retail we can ship on hangers. Creases on coated fabric are minimized by careful folding and packing.
