Soft Shell Jackets Built for Corporate and Outdoor Teams
A soft shell is the practical choice for crews who need a jacket that stretches, resists wind and takes embroidery well. We make ours from bonded polyester with a fleece or micro-fleece backing, a water-repellent face and a discreet fit. They are widely ordered for staff, trade and club uniforms. Minimum order is 50 pieces.
- 3-layer bonded construction
- Wind and water resistance
- Stretch for movement
- Excellent for embroidery
Three layers, one jacket, and every layer has a job
A soft shell jacket is made by bonding a woven polyester face fabric to a thin membrane and a fleece backing. The face gives abrasion resistance and takes a DWR finish, the membrane blocks wind and light rain, and the fleece adds warmth. Typical weight is 280 to 380 GSM, with 8,000 mm water column and 3,000 g breathability for the membrane versions.
Compared with a hard shell, a soft shell has more stretch and a quieter, fabric-like feel. It does not crinkle, which suits indoor-outdoor work like site management, delivery or guiding. Compared with a fleece, it blocks wind and sheds drizzle. Fits are usually regular or slim, with articulated sleeves, a stand collar and a drop tail.
Details include YKK-style zips, zipped pockets, adjustable cuffs, and an internal chest pocket. We can add underarm gussets for movement, reflective piping, hidden hood options and storm flaps. Because soft shell fabric is thick and stable, it is an ideal base for corporate embroidery, which sits sharp and clean on its surface.

What a soft shell gives your team
Wind blocking membrane
The inner membrane stops wind passing through while allowing moisture to escape. This keeps wearers warm when outdoors and comfortable when moving, without a rustly hard shell feel.
Four-way stretch
Elastane in the face fabric gives mechanical stretch. Sleeves and shoulders move with the arms, which suits tasks that involve reaching, lifting or driving.
Water-repellent face
A DWR finish makes light rain bead off. For heavier use we offer sealed zips and taped seams. Colors stay stable under repeated washing, and logos remain bright.
Uniform-ready detailing
Dedicated pockets for ID, radio or phone, hi-vis trim and a high collar can be included. We set these up to match your uniform spec, and produce a sample for approval.

Left-chest embroidery
The classic uniform logo. Soft shell fabric is stable, so thread sits crisply. We use a stabilizer and keep density moderate to avoid perforating the membrane, which protects waterproofing.
Back and sleeve embroidery
Larger back logos and sleeve badges work well on soft shell. We hoop the jacket flat and position the logo relative to seams, so alignment is correct on the finished garment.
Heat transfer and reflective prints
Where embroidery would pierce the membrane, a heat transfer or reflective print provides branding without holes. We test adhesion on the face fabric, and adjust temperature and dwell time.
Rubber patches and labels
Silicone patches give a modern outdoor look, and woven labels on the pocket or hem add a retail touch. Both attach without piercing the membrane when applied by heat.
Who orders this
Soft shells are a staple of corporate and trade uniform programs. Companies, clubs and agencies value them for their stretch, wind protection and ability to carry logos neatly. Retail brands also order them as a technical outerwear line.
- Corporate teams outfitting staff with logo jackets
- Construction and facility crews needing wind protection
- Golf and sports clubs issuing member jackets
- Outdoor guides and tour operators branding crews
- Dealerships and service networks supplying uniforms
Care & durability
Machine wash at 30 degrees with a mild detergent, zip closed, and tumble dry on low. Do not use fabric softener, which can reduce water repellency. Reactivate the DWR finish with a low heat tumble or warm iron.
Bonded layers are tested for delamination after repeated washing, and zips are tested for pull strength. With normal care, a soft shell retains its stretch and protection through several seasons of daily wear.
Soft shell questions answered
Straight answers to the questions buyers ask us most. Anything missing? Send an inquiry and we will reply within one business day.
Is a soft shell waterproof?
Soft shells are water-resistant, not fully waterproof. They shed drizzle and light rain thanks to a DWR finish and membrane, but sustained heavy rain will penetrate seams. For wet climates, consider our rain jackets.
Will embroidery damage the membrane?
Needle holes can reduce water resistance slightly. We use fine needles and keep density controlled. For jobs where waterproofing matters, we offer heat transfers or patches that do not pierce the membrane.
How warm is a soft shell?
With a micro-fleece backing, it provides moderate warmth, suited to cool weather or layering. For colder climates, a thicker fleece backing or a quilted lining can be added.
Can I get a hooded version?
Yes. Hoods can be fixed, detachable or stowable in the collar. A fixed hood adds cost and weight, but suits outdoor roles. We provide drawcords and a stiffened peak on request.
How do you manage sizing for uniforms?
We provide a size chart and a fit kit of sample jackets. Once sizes are confirmed, we produce your order with a small buffer for changes. Women's and extended sizes can be included in the same run.
