Blank Sweatshirts Cut for Clean Decoration
Blank sweatshirts give decorators a flat, hoodless panel and a classic silhouette. We supply crewnecks in fleece and French terry, in the weights and cuts your market wants, with trims, labels and packaging that suit retail or direct decoration.
- Crewneck, quarter zip and raglan cuts
- Fleece and French terry fabrics
- 280 to 400 GSM range
- Pre-shrunk for stable sizing
Fleece and terry bases that decorate cleanly
Sweatshirts sit between a tee and a hoodie, and they behave differently on a press. The flat front and back panels give you the largest uninterrupted print area in the fleece family, and the lack of a hood means no lump to work around when loading a platen.
Fabric is the main decision. Brushed fleece gives warmth and a plush hand, and tends to sit at 340 to 400 GSM. French terry has a smooth face and looped interior at 280 to 340 GSM, which is lighter, cooler and often easier to print fine detail on.
We also offer variations on the basic crew. Raglan sleeves add a sporty line, dropped shoulders suit streetwear, and quarter-zip necks give a layering option. Each can be supplied plain, with your neck label, or ready for private label decoration.

What buyers check on a blank sweatshirt
Flat, wide print panel
With no hood or pocket, front and back panels print without distortion. That helps oversized graphics and all-over layouts, and keeps platen set-up quick.
Strong rib trims
Collar, cuffs and hem use 2×2 or 1×1 rib with elastane for recovery. Trims keep shape after repeated washing, which protects the look of your decoration.
Two fabric families
Brushed fleece for warm, plush wear, French terry for lighter, breathable layers. We can sample both so you can pick based on your season and print method.
Pre-shrunk and tested
Fabric is compacted and tested for shrinkage before cutting, typically under 3 percent. Size charts stay reliable between batches and reorders.
Ways to use our blank sweatshirts
Tell us your quantity, sizes, artwork and target date. Our team replies with a quote, free mockup and sample options, usually within one working day, so you can compare before you commit.
Print on the blank
Screen print, DTG and DTF all work well on smooth sweatshirt faces. We can advise the best fabric and weight for your method before you commit to a full order.
Embroider on the blank
Chest crests, small logos and sleeve hits stitch cleanly on mid to heavy weights. French terry may need stabiliser to avoid puckering, which your embroiderer can plan for.
Brand it as private label
Add woven labels, printed inner necks and hang tags. A simple, well-cut sweatshirt with strong labelling can sell on its own as a minimalist brand staple.
Customise the cut
Tweak length, rib depth, sleeve fit and body width, or add details such as side vents and kangaroo pockets, then sample before bulk to approve the new pattern.
Who orders this
Blank sweatshirts are ordered by buyers who value a clean base and flexible decoration. They suit lower-profile styling than hoodies and are easier to ship and store because they fold flatter.
- Print shops stocking sweatshirts for walk-in custom orders
- Fashion startups launching a minimalist crewneck range
- Corporate merch agencies supplying smart casual branded wear
- School suppliers producing uniforms and club sweatshirts
- Embroidery studios needing flat panels for crest work
Care & durability
Blank sweatshirts handle regular laundering well. Wash at 30 to 40 degrees, inside out, and tumble on low or dry flat. A small amount of fleece fuzz in early washes is normal, and settles quickly.
Rib trims and reinforced shoulder seams keep their shape. For printed or embroidered pieces, avoid ironing directly on the decoration and skip fabric softener, which can reduce ink and thread life.
Questions buyers ask about blank sweatshirts
Straight answers to the questions buyers ask us most. Anything missing? Send an inquiry and we will reply within one business day.
What is the difference from blank hoodies?
Sweatshirts have no hood, pocket or drawcord, so they use less fabric and cost less per unit. They also give a larger flat print area. Hoodies carry more perceived value and warmth for colder markets.
Which fabric prints best, fleece or terry?
Both print well. French terry has a smoother face that helps fine detail, while brushed fleece is plusher and suits bold graphics. Heavier fleece also resists show-through on dark colours. Ask for swatches to test your method.
Can you supply a vintage garment-dyed finish?
Yes. Garment dyeing and enzyme washing give a soft, faded look. Colours differ from the raw dye, so we approve a sample first. Expect slightly longer lead time and a small shade tolerance per batch.
Do you offer raglan or quarter-zip options?
Yes, along with set-in, dropped-shoulder and cropped cuts. Pattern changes are sampled before bulk. Your account manager will confirm minimums for each style, which are usually 50 pieces per colour.
Can I get my own labels sewn in?
Yes. Woven neck labels, printed inner tags and custom care labels can be added at the factory. Send artwork and label size, and we will include them in your sample so you can approve placement.
