Hockey Jerseys Made Roomy Enough for Pads

Built around the pads underneath
A hockey jersey sits over shoulder pads, elbow pads and a chest protector, so it is cut much larger than a standard sports shirt. Sleeves are wide enough for elbow pads, the body is long enough to tuck into hockey pants, and the neck opening has to clear a collar or cage. Getting this wrong makes the jersey ride up, bunch or restrict movement.
We make hockey jerseys from a heavier polyester knit, around 190 to 240 gsm, with mesh or air-knit panels at the sides and under the arms. The tough fabric resists snagging on equipment and holds colour through harsh wash cycles. Lace-up necks, V-necks and crew collars are all offered, along with fight-strap tabs on request, and double-layered elbow and hem patches.
The complete team system includes socks, which are long, thick and often striped to match the jersey, plus practice jerseys, warm-ups and bench jackets. We produce them in the same colour specification, so home, away and practice sets work together. Many teams also order a third jersey for a special occasion or an alumni game.

Rink-ready construction
Pad-friendly cut
Chest, armhole and sleeve measurements are expanded to allow for protection. Body length reaches below the hip to stay tucked in during a play, and sleeves have extra width at the elbow.
Cold-rink fabric
Heavier knits keep warmth in a cold arena, while mesh side panels vent heat during play. The fabric dries quickly after a game and does not hold moisture close to the skin.
Neck and tab options
Choose a lace-up neck, a V-neck with rib trim, or a crew collar. Fight straps can be added at the back hem, and reinforced elbow and hem patches help in contact-heavy leagues.
Goalie variants
Goalie jerseys have a larger cut to fit over bigger chest protection, and extra length. Colours can be set to stand apart from skaters, and a different neck style can be used.

Tackle twill crests
The large chest crest is the centrepiece of a hockey jersey. We cut it in layered twill, embroidered with a satin stitch edge. Twill holds its shape better than a printed crest through years of washing.
Sublimated bodies
Sublimation creates multi-colour stripes, yokes and patterns across the jersey, with no added weight. It lets you replicate a classic stripe pattern or try a modern graphic design in your colours.
Numbers and names
Numbers appear on sleeves, back and sometimes shoulders. Names go above the back number. Heat-pressed twill or sublimated numbers are available, and we check size against your league rules.
Captain and alternate marks
Captain C and alternate A patches are stitched or heat-pressed to the chest. We position them to follow league guidance, and supply spares so changes are quick.

Care & durability
Hockey jerseys are washed often. Use cool water, turn them inside out, and air dry to protect twill, which can warp with heat. Wash socks separately, since they pick up odour, and avoid fabric softener to keep wicking intact.
Heavy knit, reinforced elbow patches and bar-tacked seams resist the wear of pads and boards. Sublimated panels stay vivid because the colour sits in the fibre.

How oversized are hockey jerseys?
Hockey jerseys are cut larger across the chest, sleeves and body than a normal athletic shirt. We use pad-friendly measurements as a base, and adjust for youth, goalie or slimmer fits if needed.
Can we get both home and away jerseys?
Yes. Home and away jerseys are usually dark and light versions of the same design. We produce them together so crest placement and numbers match, and add practice jerseys for a three-set programme.
Do you produce hockey socks?
Yes. Socks are long, heavy and printed or knitted in team stripes to match the jersey. They come in youth and adult lengths, and can be ordered with the jersey set for matching colours.
What is the difference between twill and sublimation for crests?
Twill is layered fabric stitched down with a raised look and long life. Sublimation is printed into the fabric and is flatter. Many teams combine a twill crest with a sublimated jersey body.
Can you make goalie jerseys?
Yes. Goalie jerseys are larger and longer, and are often set apart in colour. We can add custom neck styles and reinforced patches. Please tell us if goalies use larger chest protection.
