Thread-Built Logos That Make a Garment Look Finished
Embroidery turns a logo into stitched thread that sits in the garment rather than on it. It reads as premium, survives years of washing and suits caps, polos, jackets and workwear. Our digitizers prepare every file in house, and we run multi-head machines from 50 pieces, with 3D puff for chunky raised lettering.
- In-house digitizing and test sews
- 3D puff and flat stitching
- Thread colours matched to Pantone
- Caps, polos, hoodies, jackets
Digitizing and stitching, explained
Embroidery machines cannot read a normal image. A digitizer converts your logo into a stitch file, deciding every stitch type, direction, density and sequence. Fill stitches cover areas, satin stitches form borders and lettering, and run stitches draw fine lines. Good digitizing is the difference between crisp thread work and a puckered, uneven result.
Size is measured in stitch count. A small left-chest logo of about 6 to 8 cm typically runs between 4,000 and 8,000 stitches, while a large back design can exceed 20,000. More stitches mean longer machine time, which is why cost follows stitch count rather than the number of colours alone. Minimum readable text height is about 5 mm in satin stitch.
Fabric needs the right support. We use cutaway or tearaway stabiliser depending on the garment, with firmer backing for knits and stretch fabrics. Hooping, tension and needle choice are set per job so the stitching stays flat after washing, and we run a test sew on your blank before the production run starts.
Where embroidery shines
Corporate and uniform branding
A stitched logo on a polo, shirt or jacket signals quality and lasts as long as the garment. It is the standard for workwear, hospitality, banks and any team that wants a clean professional look.
Caps and structured headwear
Embroidery is the classic decoration for caps, with firm front panels that hold dense stitching well. We digitize caps differently from flat garments to handle curvature and seams across the crown.
Premium streetwear detail
Small embroidered marks on sleeves, hems or chests lift a collection above printed basics. Tonal thread, oversized lettering and 3D puff give labels texture without the weight of patches.
Long-wearing outerwear
Jackets, fleece and heavy hoodies carry stitching better than thin prints. Thread does not crack or peel, so embroidery on workwear and outdoor garments keeps looking sharp through hard use.
Embroidery capabilities
In-house digitizing
Our digitizers build stitch files for your logo, setting underlay, density and pull compensation. You approve a stitch preview before the first needle goes in.
3D puff embroidery
Foam placed under satin stitches lifts letters and shapes into a raised, sculpted finish. It is popular on caps and hoodies, and works best with bold shapes and thick lettering.
Thread colour matching
We stock a wide thread range and match to Pantone references as closely as polyester and rayon thread allow, checking colour under daylight before running.
Multi-head production
Multi-head machines stitch several garments at once, which keeps 50 to 5,000 piece orders within our 10 to 15 working day lead time without cutting corners on quality.
Embroidery options
Share your logo, garment and quantity. We will digitize a preview, estimate stitch count, quote the job and confirm minimums and lead time.
Flat embroidery
Standard stitching with fill and satin elements. It suits logos, monograms and small text, and is the most economical embroidery style for polos, shirts and jackets.
3D puff embroidery
Foam under satin stitches creates raised lettering and shapes. Keep letters at least 6 mm tall and strokes thick, and expect a higher stitch count than flat work.
Appliqué and mixed media
Cut fabric shapes stitched into place add colour and texture across large areas using fewer stitches. Combine with flat stitching for detail, popular for varsity and fashion collections.
Placement and hat styles
Left chest, sleeve, back, hem and cap fronts are standard. Side and back cap embroidery is available, and flat garments can be embroidered before sewing to reach awkward placements.
Embroidery compared with printing and patches
Choose embroidery when you want texture, prestige and durability, and your logo has clean shapes and limited fine detail. It beats printing on thick or structured fabrics, and ages better than most transfers on workwear.
Choose screen print or DTF for photographs, gradients and very small text. Choose custom patches when you want a repositionable badge or a very large design, because dense full-back stitching adds cost and weight. We will test your artwork and tell you which approach gives the best result.
Who orders this
Embroidery appeals to buyers who value longevity and a refined finish. It works where the garment needs to look good daily, in front of customers, on the field or on the shop floor.
- Companies outfitting reception, sales and field staff
- Golf clubs, schools and teams ordering caps and polos
- Streetwear labels adding stitched details to hoodies
- Hospitality groups branding aprons, shirts and jackets
- Trade contractors needing durable logos on workwear
Care & durability
Embroidery is among the most durable decoration methods. Machine wash on a normal cycle, ideally inside out, and avoid high heat on delicate threads. Iron on the reverse side only.
3D puff is best air-dried or tumbled low. Thread can snag on rough surfaces, so we trim loose ends and recommend a gentle cycle for garments with large stitched areas.
Embroidery questions answered
Straight answers to the questions buyers ask us most. Anything missing? Send an inquiry and we will reply within one business day.
What is digitizing and do I pay for it?
Digitizing converts your logo into a stitch file the machine can read. We prepare it in house as part of free design support, and store the file so reorders run identically. Complex artwork may need a redraw, which we will explain first.
How much does stitch count matter?
Stitch count drives machine time and therefore cost. A compact chest logo may need 5,000 stitches, while a full back design may need 25,000 or more. We estimate count from your artwork when quoting, so there is no guessing.
What is the smallest text you can embroider?
Satin stitch lettering is legible down to about 5 mm tall, and bolder fonts help. Below that, threads merge and legibility falls. If your logo has small text, we may simplify it or suggest printing that element instead.
Can you embroider on any garment?
Most woven and knit garments work, including polos, shirts, jackets, fleece and caps. Very thin, stretchy or heavily textured fabrics need stabiliser and sometimes a simplified design. We test on your blank first to avoid puckering.
What is 3D puff embroidery?
A foam sheet sits under dense satin stitches, which cover it and raise the letters off the garment. It gives a bold, sculpted look, mostly on caps and hoodies. We recommend thick strokes and large lettering for the cleanest result.
