A washed look that stays consistent across a run
Acid wash is a finishing process, not a print. Pumice or stone is tumbled with the garment, often with a chlorine or potassium permanganate step, to strip pigment unevenly and leave the marbled, vintage contrast the style is known for. Because it is done on the finished hoodie, every piece takes the wash a little differently.
The challenge for a brand is repeatability. We solve it by fixing the dye recipe, load size, tumble time and rinse sequence for your style, then approving a pre-production sample before bulk. Within a run, pieces vary by design, but the overall shade, fade level and softness stay inside a tight range you have signed off.
We build the hoodie on a heavy 400 GSM cotton fleece with a brushed interior, a double-layered hood and ribbed cuffs and hem. That weight survives the wash process without thinning at the seams. Washed hoodies also take embroidery, puff print and screen print well, provided the decoration is applied in the right order, which we plan with you.

Heavy cotton fleece base
A 400 GSM loopback fleece keeps its structure through tumbling and chemical treatment. Lighter fabrics often thin out or distort, so we avoid them for washed styles.
Reinforced construction
Flatlock seams, double-needle hems and bar-tacked pocket corners hold up to the abrasion of stone washing, which loads stress onto every join in the garment.
Pre-washed for stable fit
Because the garment is already washed at length, residual shrinkage is low, usually under 3 percent. Your customers will not see the size change after their first home wash.

Frayed cuffs, cut hems and sanded details can be added alongside the wash. Specify how aggressive the finish should be and we produce a sample for your sign-off.

Woven neck labels, printed inside tags and hang tags carry your brand. Care labels can state wash-on-first-wear advice so colour expectations are set.

Care & durability
Acid wash hoodies are durable, but the finish is part of the product. Wash inside out in cold water with similar colours, and avoid bleach. Line dry or tumble low to protect the hand feel and any embroidery or print.
Because the colour has already been broken down in production, further fading is slow and tends to look natural. Seams are reinforced for the process, so they hold up well against everyday wear and repeated laundering.

Can you match a specific vintage colour?

Does washing affect embroidery or print?
It can, which is why we decorate after the wash whenever possible. For designs that must be applied first, we use wash-safe threads and inks and test a panel. We will tell you honestly if a combination is risky.
